How many hours per week will my child need?

Typically, 2-4 hours per week per subject are successful in achieving good results. Therefore, the total number of hours recommended will depend on each child's current skill level, the amount of time available for improvement and how many subjects will be addressed.

What is the minimum amount of time for tutoring?

There is no absolute minimum amount of time. However, to see substantial results, most students need a fair amount of time in tutoring.

How long will my child be in the Soar to Success Program at Wings of Knowledge Tutoring?

One of the most frequent questions is, ''How long will my child need tutoring?'' There is no single answer to this question. Howwever, we will make our best recommendation based on your child's assessment and your goals. Most students stay with us for at least a school year, and many stay through the following summer. Some take advantage of our service for years just as an added support. We have had salutatorians stay with our service for years.

Each child is different, and we will work to develop a program to meet your child's unique needs.

Will you help my child with homework?

If we are working along with a particular class in school, our tutors will use the homework as a tool for teaching the concept. They will also use outside resources as needed to make sure that the student understands the concepts.

My child isn't remedial. I just want them advanced. Do you do that?

Yes. We work with students at all skill levels. We want our students to be competitve with other children across the nation. We can work with your child at any level.

What is your hourly rate?

Since we are interested in helping a child succeed in the long-run, we bill on a monthly basis - not by the session. However, here are our approximate hourly rates:

In-office, individualized sessions are approximatetly $28/hour.

In-office, private sessions are $50/hour

In-home, private sessions are $50/hour with a minimum 1.5 hours per visit.
